NÂR è una polistrumentista, cantante e compositrice libanese con sede a Beirut. In costante metamorfosi, lavora con vari strumenti, la sua voce e diversi oggetti che trova. Abrasive e ipnotiche, le performance di N R sono esperimenti sonori e improvvisazioni dal vivo costruite dalla A alla Z, spesso guidate da brevi frasi ripetute come mantra. La sua musica affonda le radici in un ampio spettro di suoni, ispirazioni o generi come la trance mediorientale e nordafricana, la musica industriale ed elettronica. Nel 2022, NÂR ha preso una direzione più radicale e ha creato la sua Time machine. Uno strumento artigianale composto da vecchi orologi, campane e altri oggetti metallici che dà vita a una nuova dimensione della sua pratica con sonorità più crude. ”NÂR ” non è un ‘progetto’, è un viaggio e il riflesso del fuoco che arde dentro di me. Un susseguirsi di errori sacri, un culto dell’ignoto”.

NÂR is a Lebanese multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer based in Beirut. In a constant metamorphosis, she works with various instruments, her voice and different objects she finds. Abrasive, hypnotic, NÂR’s performances are sonic experiments and live improvisations built up from A to Z, often led by short sentences on repeat like mantras. Her music takes its roots in a very large spectrum of sounds, inspiration or genre such as middle eastern and north African trance, industrial and electronic music. In 2022, NÂR took a more radical direction and created her Time machine. A handcrafted instrument composed of old clocks, bells and other metallic objects giving birth to a new dimension in her practice and allowing more rawness to her sound. “NÂR” is not a “Project” , it’s a journey and the reflection of the fire burning inside me. A succession of sacred mistakes, a cult to the unknown.
